Eagles of Death Metal fans are bailing on the band after Jesse Hughes’ posts about the March for Lives kids

Jesse Hughes, the leader of Eagles of Death Metal, made some very ill-advised Instagram posts over the weekend, slamming the kids involved in the March for Lives protests against gun violence. Hughes, a gun enthusiast, Trump supporter and survivor of the Bataclan massacre, calling the efforts “pathetic and disgusting.”

As you might expect, the blowback has been severe. Hughes’ posts are gone, but the damage has been done. Fans are taking action.

I don’t really do the separating the art from the artist thing since politics is so deeply entrenched in music and with that considered, I’m going to sell my Eagles of Death Metal records and give the money to an anti-gun charity.

Just saw Eagles of Death Metal trending, clicked on it because they’re a band I like a lot, read about why they’re trending, and now they’re no longer a band I like a lot.

Between Jesse Hughes’ islamaphobia and gun worship and Josh Homme’s kicking a photog in the face recently, this 15+ year QOTSA/EODM fan is DONE. Fuck y’all, you are cancelled. I’ve actually been done for a while, but I just wanted to say it out loud. ?
