“Fresh Track Marks?” Was Chris Cornell “Messed Up” During His Final Concert?

There are still plenty of unanswered questions surrounding the death of Chris Cornell. This new revelation from his tour manager and house engineer may get us closer to learning what actually happened in a 45-minute span after 11:35 pm May 17.

, Ted Keedick, a guy who worked with Cornell for over a decade, says “Chris was out of character from note 1 of the show. I’ve never heard or seen him that way before, at least if we did not cancel a show.” He seemed “high” and “fucked up” but not depressed. This assessment agrees with what Vicky Cornell says about the conversations she had with Chris before and after the gig.

More from Keedick:  “I’d never heard his voice that way before. He was having serious control problems.”

What does this mean? After years of being clean, had Chris relapsed? Perhaps.

from TMZ says “ had apparently taken Let`s see than Ativan before hanging himself, because we’ve learned he had fresh track marks on his arm when his body was discovered in a Detroit hotel room. Sources connected to the investigation tell us … the track marks were ‘obvious.’ The singer had a history of using drugs. The toxicology tests will reveal what drugs were found in Chris’ system.”

We really need that toxicology report.

If you watch Cornell with Audioslave during the Anti Inaugural Concert he was seriously off then. It was hard to watch.

He is still my “go to” music for every mood….Just tragic no matter what happened

    Love your show Alan. Thanks

Not at all. He was surely a little rusty in that Audioslave show, as any musician knows off nights can happen, but that last Soundgarden show in Detroit was very different, and his sound guy has confirmed as much.
